COACHES

Notice to all Coaches and potential Coaches. Applications are now being accepted for the 2011 Season. The deadline to apply is September 12th. Please get your applications in to Tony Volpini at tvolpini1@hotmail.com or Corey Barkman at c_barkman@hotmail.com .

The GNBA encourages all coaches both travel and house league to attend clinics. 

1. Travel Coaches   

• What coaches will need to coach an OBA Rep (travel) team in 2011:

  All new coaches must first begin training by taking an online course available at http://nccp.baseball.ca/. The fee for the online course is $37.45 and gives you access to on-line video drills, materials, practice plans and skill development tools in an easy to follow format. You continue to have access to the site after completing the on-line portion of the entry course.

• Technical Level One offered by Baseball Ontario
• coaches must apply 30 days prior to the clinic in order to have the application approved by the City Parks and Recreation Commission.  They will reimburse the coach for $45 and the GNBA will cover the balance. Coaches must submit to the GNBA

- receipt from the clinic attended   -copy of application to city

  2.    Video and Book Library

• House league and travel coaches can contact their convenor to gain access to the GNBA Video and Book Library, which contains a variety of coaching topics, through out the entire

UMPIRES   

Umpires are always needed for all divisions, both travel and house league. All umpires must attend a clinic EACH YEAR and pass a written test from Baseball Ontario if they want to umpire travel baseball. If you umpired last year, you will receive a phone call about the clinic. If you know any other boys or men interested in umpiring bring them along. Even during the season... if you think you might like to try umpiring please inform me because the GNBA always needs new umpires for all divisions. The GNBA also has a DVD library of Umpire videos which can be borrowed on a weekly basis.

When:   Level One-   

            Level Two-   

Time:    Registration - between 8:30 am until 9 am

            Clinic-  9am until 4pm

Where:    Level One-  Level One-  St Mary's School (Gym) 5719 Morrison St (across from the Oakes Park running track)

              Level Two-  Sadler-Conte Field House  5610 Arthur St (Next to Houck Park)

The GNBA will cover the cost of the clinic for any participant from Niagara Falls.
